"LAST week, the Standard reported how the Maltsters Arms in Rotherfield Greys had been named the unofficial best restaurant in Henley.
Now comes praise for its staff. Last Friday, our reporter Sam Vernon was on his way back from an assignment in Stoke Row when his car broke down outside the pub.
Sam was trying to push the car to the side of the road in driving snow when he was helped by two employees from the pub. "

I reckon he owes them both a pint.

• GREAT NEWS-The Maltsters has won the Silent Customer Competition  - a survey amongst Henleys pubs and restaurants which customers review your pub and comment on various aspects of the pub,We were presented our winners certificate by the Mayoress onThursday 29th with other pub and restaurant owners joining us for a champagne reception
• We were presented on 20th April 2009 with Winner of Outstanding Performer within the Brakspear Estate of 150 pubs so we  are very proud of ourselves and the team at the Maltsters.We are very much looking forward to enjoying the prize of a weekend in a luxury hotel anywhere in the UK!!!!!!!!  
• BREAKING NEWS 7TH MAY-At 7am on  the staff were awoken by neighbours seeing flames rise from the Barn next to the pub.By the time the fire brigade arrived the barn was alight and on the  fire brigades arrival  concerns turned to the butane gas tanks in the barn so the road was closed off .Gladly everyone was safe and the main building was not damaged so we were able to open on Saturday after electricity and gas supplies were reconnected so  BUSINESS AS USUAL
